As a first time mum, I put a lot of time and research into preparing for my pregnancy and birth, but after my baby was born, I was so absorbed with caring for him that I had no time or energy to research the next steps, like starting foods. As a first time mom there are many firsts: all of them emotional, most of them exciting and wonderous, and yet a few of them daunting and somewhat nerve wracking. For me – starting solids was one of the latter. I had no idea what to expect: I was terrified of giving the wrong first food; worried about potential choke hazards; weary of texture issues; fearful of potential allergIc reactions; wondering about lack of variety; and clueless about how to prepare the food. Me and recipes just don’t get on. Wholesome Child starting solids course came to my rescue! The step by step, simple, easy to follow modules gave me a clear and comprehensive breakdown of what, when and how and not just relating to food, but also including feeding techniques, feeding readiness, what to expect, reassuring me that every baby’s journey is different – and other useful tips relating to starting solids.
